My Hot Heels pick of the week is the Naughty Monkey Honey Pump, available in Red & White and Leopard & Black.

WOW! I am just so in love with this snazzy heel. As expected from the funky, fabulous Naughty Monkey line, the Honey Pump hits the mark perfectly between cute and edgy.

Let’s start with the pony hair print on the outside. Honey pump’s spots are cute and small, but have that sexy animal-print edge. A ruffle with buttons at the heel adds another touch of cute, but the fire-red color on the details like the capped toe keeps things smoldering. See what I mean? Honey Pump combines cute with sexy for a fabulously flexible and wearable pump.

I take a lot of orders on the phone, and there has definitely been a lot of interest in these sexy pumps. No wonder we ordered it in leopard and black as well!

Sometimes I open up my closet and feel like I have all too many boring shoes. Am I alone in this?! Sure, maybe I can wear a lot of my heels anywhere and match them with all kinds of things, but that usually means they’re unobtrusive and safe in color. A pair of plain brown pumps is effortlessly wearable yet rarely inspires anyone.

I crave shoes that set me apart from a crowd. Shoes that make people stop and ask me, “Where did you get those?!” (Heels.com, of course!) Shoes that put a smile on my face every time I look down. I recently visited Chicago which was quite a change from what I am used to here in Charlotte! Not only was it a bit cooler, I also never got in a car to go anywhere. This is quite unusual for me as Charlotte is primarily a driving city, so you can bet I was curious about the footwear choices of others.

Walking block upon block, navigating through crowds, and scaling slippery train station stairs is pretty much not doable in heels. In fact, I would strongly advise against it! I definitely saw a lot of bad/boring footwear choices, but some girls did manage to look quite cute in their walking attire. The main choice I saw were flat riding style boots – and it was also the choice I decided to don for most of the weekend!

I wore my favorite flat boots, the BCBG Petler boot in black (now sold out but available in suede!) and they were quite comfortable! Well, I will admit I was pretty sore from all that walking!

A good amount of the girls were wearing styles very similar to this. A similar style we carry at Heels.com is the Steven by Steve Madden Inragee:

The one heel brand that I can always count on to make me swoon is Badgley Mischka. Brrrr! It’s always pretty cold in the Heels.com headquarters, but today it’s especially chilly because the heating is broken! Winter took a while to get to us here in sunny North Carolina, but it is definitely here now. On the other hand, my boss is the best! I walked in and the first thing he said was, “I turned on the heater under your desk so it would be warm.” Isn’t that nice?!!

With the cool weather (and cold workplace!) there’s only one kind of shoe I’m thinking about right now. Boots. Warm and fuzzy boots. And I would like to take a moment to highlight a pair of boots that has not really gotten the rep it deserves:

The Report Meloni.

Now, we posted these on the Heels.com Facebook page (are you a fan yet??) and they didn’t exactly get a standing ovation. Our stylish and discerning readers expect links to sexy heels. They were not terribly excited about these furry, flat boots, and I don’t blame them.

But you have to understand – in person, these boots are SO COOL! The pictures just don’t do them justice at all because you miss the most interesting thing about these boots: the many, many different ways they can be worn.

Boots this season are all about flexibility, and we have many pairs of knee boots with cuffs that can be folded down or pulled up. The Report Meloni incorporates this flexibility into a boot that can be attractively worn at least three ways.

See, the outside of the leg of the boot is a soft suede-like fabric and the inside is fuzzy warm fur. You can pull them all the way up (they are VERY attractive this way, and quite warm!), fold them half down, or fold them all the way down. Here is a picture of them half-cuffed:

The Report Meloni can be anything from an attractive suede-like knee boot to a cuffed boot to an Eskimo-style fuzzy boot! The important part is that how you wear them is up to you. Are you cold today? Well, you should really make room in your closet for a pair of nice fuzzy boots. Personally I think the Report Meloni is a fantastic and flexible option. Do you agree?

I was doing some weekend shopping on Heels.com and I came across a brand I remember very well from my first shoe show two years ago. The Heels.com team had to choose what we wanted to carry on the site from a huge, huge range of shoes and brands at the show – but Oh… DEER! caught our eye immediately with their interesting, unique, and stylish designs. They describe themselves as retro yet accessible, which I think fits them to a T!

Here are a few of my favorite Oh…DEER! heels:

The Trapeze Heel by Oh… DEER! – I love this sexy sandal. The suede color blocking is very attractive, and the color palette makes it just perfect for my fall wardrobe! I’m always wearing cool colors, and I love blues and greens. I think I’ll be picking this one up for myself. The other color combinations are just as attractive: check out the Trapeze in funky purple or an absolutely lovely white & gold.

Pistashio by Oh…DEER! – I need a pair of animal-patterned shoes. I do. They’re so in, and everyone’s got a pair, but I’ve been hesitant to buy because I don’t really like garish patterns … so when I saw these, I fell in love! These are without a doubt my favorite animal-print pumps on Heels.com! The cheetah pattern is so cute. I had to go find them, take them out of the box, and look at them to see if they were really so cute in person, and they are! I’ve got a craving for a pair of these sexy pumps. I’m serious. I really went to go look at them. They’re super cute, believe me!

It feels like I’m finally catching my breath from Vegas! Took me long enough, huh?

Like Suleika, I am so excited for Fall stuff I can’t stand it! I am loving all the boots we’ve had coming in – we’ve got a lot of thigh-high styles and I know that’s what a lot of y’all are looking for – just got an email from Rachel Zoe this morning about how every girl needs a pair.

Personally though, I am just looking for a nice pair of black boots that can be semi-formal or casual. Some of my top picks:

I thought it was interesting listening to industry insiders talk about thigh boots – they would say, “She has a normal boot but this style gives her a reason to get something new!”

While I do believe that the statement is true, I honestly don’t really like it. Maybe I’m just bitter because the thigh-high trend won’t work for me, but I feel like making a great classic version of a shoe every one needs is always a win-win. It’s fun to do something new and fresh, but sometimes the staple is where it’s at. I guess I’m just in a boring mood today ;)

It’s September already? Whatever happened to August?! I have to take out all my boots? Do I really need to put my summer shoes into hibernation already? No way! No one puts their whole sandal collection away just because the month has changed, especially if you live somewhere that tends to stay warm and sunny well into the fall.

Mornings may have cooled down a bit, but there are a lot more hot and humid days to look forward to here in Charlotte NC, where Heels.com is located. My gladiators and metallic flats are definitely going to see a lot more wear before they disappear for the winter.

The Tamika Heel by L.A.M.B has a lovely color scheme, ivory and black leather, with an interesting twisted-fabric look and a really stylish stacked heel. Definitely a classy shoe I’d love to pick up, and it’s on super-sale, reduced from $329 to $199!

I love delicate, metallic, dressy sandals, and the Dalia Heel by Claudia Ciuci is a winner in every way. The straps are very flattering – this is probably my favorite pair of dressy sandals on the site – and who doesn’t want to own a pair of shoes in a color called “Platinum Robot?” On sale from $349 to $198.

Marciano’s Trevina Sandal should be at the top of your list if you want to pick up a pair of gladiator-style sandals before the summer ends. I personally love this style – they’re flat, they have great upper support, they’re very easy to walk around in, and bronze is my favorite color. On sale from $194 to $169.

I was inspired by The Shoe Girl’s adorable ankle boots in a recent post – something about cutouts on an ankle bootie, like peep toes, are just plain sexy! Maybe it’s the combination of “covered” (the foot) and “uncovered” (the peep toe), or the fact that they tend to have really high heels, or just the inherent sexiness of a cutout in general, but there’s just something about them! My fall closet definitely won’t be complete without a pair of peep-toe ankle boots.

Our ankle boot collection at Heels.com is chock full of peep toes and other cut-outs. Here are a few of my favorites:

Camp Heel by Cindy Says. I love this color. I really do. And these ankle boots have all sorts of other wonderful things going on, like the slouchy leather ankle wrap, the cone heel, and the understated but sexy peep-toe.

BCBGirls – Wartol Boot in Acorn. I love these! They combine that cowboy-boot feel that is all the rage this fall with a sexy peep-toe, and the end result is very attractive. Love the two-toned color scheme too!
