Style Inspiration: Wedding Planning 101

Posted by Suleika on Monday Aug 17, 2009

So…I’m getting married in about a month but I’m not your typical Bridezilla. Below I share with you some of my confessions and tips if you want to have a no fuss wedding.

  • First off, I only began planning my wedding a few weeks ago. I figured less time to plan = less stress.
  • I’m keeping it small and personal, about 50 guests.
  • Instead of sending out traditional invitations, I decided to share my news of the big day with an electronic invitation. It’s better for the environment, it allows my guests to reply in a very convenient and fast way (one click) and it was FREE.
  • Your wedding day should reflect who you are and celebrate your relationship. I’ve chosen to let go of the idea of “tradition” for my wedding because I’m not a traditional person. Doing things just because everyone else does it a certain way would not be true to who I am. Do what works for you and who cares what people think! If they don’t like it, they don’t have to be a part of your celebration.
  • Through this process, I’ve enlisted the help of my sister (Maid of Honor) who has been more than helpful in planning my special day. If you’re not hiring a wedding consultant, I highly recommend finding a close friend or relative to help you plan.
  • I’m listening to my soon to be husband who doesn’t want to be bothered about every little detail, like what color linens I selected. Don’t burn out your fiance before the big day with constant chatter about the wedding. He will enjoy it in his own way, don’t take it personal: he’s just not that into it.
  • Finally, enjoy the aspects that mean the most to you. For me, it’s my wedding day fashion. I have selected a unique dress that fits my style perfectly. As for the shoes, one pair just won’t do. Below are my picks for your bridal style inspiration. Happy (wedding day) Heel Hunting!

Trends We Love: Creative Brides

Posted by Suleika on Monday Jul 20, 2009

If you’re a bride to be, no doubt you’ve already started planning the wedding. For me, the most important choice isn’t the dress or location but the shoes.

I’m not a traditional bride that’s for sure, I just don’t believe in the whole “let’s do a wedding this way because this is how everyone else does it” scenario. So I selected a few styles for those rebel brides out there, I hope these inspire you to celebrate your special day in a way that’s true to yourself. Happy Heel Hunting!

Trends We Love: Ruffle Up Your Look

Posted by Suleika on Monday Jul 13, 2009

What can be more girly than ruffles on your footwear? It seems that designers aren’t just satisfied with producing skirts with the layered trim. These whimsy details are moving South to add flare to your feet. To avoid a Shirley Temple vibe, these looks are worn best with something chic and mature.  Happy Heel Hunting!
