Ok Shoe Folks, we are closing in on the final weeks before Halloween.  Costumes should be coming together real soon if not completed already.  Did you get one of those bagged ones from the generic “Halloween Store” in the mall? or did you rent yours from a costume house? or did you piece yours together at a vintage store?  No matter the construction, the correct footwear is essential.  Lets take a peep at three more costumes.

The Queen of Hearts is another character from the wildly popular Alice in Wonderland film from this year.  In the movie Helena Bonham Carter had a CGI larger-than-life head that added to twisted plot style of this Tim Burton interpretation.  If you want to be a sexy Queen, I suggest something more along the lines of this costume.

The biggest reality show of the year was most definitely MTV’s Jersey Shore.  Whether you watch it because you like to drool at overly spray tanned hard-bodies or you can’t take your eyes off this trainwreck of a show.  Either way, these Snooki and Jwoww costumes are hilarious.

Another classic costume that is in constant rotation is the Gypsy.  Add lots of gold bangle bracelets, hoop earrings, and maybe a tambourine to pull off this nomadic look.

I love watching awards shows and finding alternatives to expensive Celebrity shoe fashions.  This was no easy task during the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards that aired on Sunday evening.  Why you ask … because most everyone was wearing long dresses that completely hid their shoes.

For all we know, Claire Danes could have been wearing Harley Davidson Steel Toe Motorcycle Boots under her Armani Prive sequined ball gown.  Probably not but still;  Here are some amazing shoe styles that I did manage to spot on the Red Carpet.

Dancing with the Stars Co-Host Brooke Burke was simply stunning in her white strapless Mark Zunino dress with Chopard Diamonds;  The perfect compliment to the dainty sparkle on her feet.

Even though I personally think this look is a train-wreck, Lauren Graham did have some pretty cool footwear.  I am digging the gladiator-like shoe vibe that the Modern Family star is sporting.  It is pretty much the only think I like about this photo.

If you wanna strut your stuff like Lauren, I suggest these

Black Leather Strappy Dominica Sandals with Metallic Heel from L.A.M.B

While her hit TV Show The Vampire Diaries wasn’t nominated for any awards, Nina Dobrev was part of the opening “Glee-Inspired” musical number.  It has reached a record number of views on the Internet in just a few short days following the Emmy ceremony.

Without a doubt the most jaw-dropping dress (napkin, handkerchief, wash cloth, etc) of the evening was worn by Heidi Klum.  I’m not entirely sure she could have climbed the steps to accept the award that Project Runway was nominated for if they had won.  Nonetheless, I love the sparkles though.

CSI:  Miami Star Eva La Rue was definitely on trend for the evening with another white Grecian style gown with a super high slit.  Her metallic shoes add just the right amount of glitz.

One hot trend that has been gaining momentum through the warmer weather months is  the Cutout look.  I don’t see this style disappearing anytime soon even as the thermometer drops.  I think it will transition well into more accent pieces so you don’t lose too much body heat.

I found this Tribal Print Lattice Dress at Forever 21 for only $18.90.  Throw it on with a vintage leather jacket and some leggings for a versatile cool weather look.

Shoes We Love: In the Nude

I am in love with nude shoes. Literally obsessed. I didn’t mean for it turn out that way, but I am drawn to nude shoes. After all, you can wear them with ANYTHING! Ellen posted some fabulous L.A.M.B heels with gold embellishments that are on my wish list. I have told myself time and time again that I am not allowed to purchase anymore nude shoes. I want them!!

Suleika has these beauties. She pairs them with jeans and skirts or dresses. The Chief is a versatile style that can be worn with just about anything. Guess manufactured the Chief in several different patterns and colors. We cannot wait to get it in more colors.

The girls and I were just introduced to these amazing styles by Bebe; Stewart and Sofia.

Stewart is a stellar open toed booties complete with aged silver rings for that extra sparkle and pizazz. The platform makes it a little chunky (fierce) while the color keeps it sweet. I love the cut-outs over the entire shoe. It’s a fun and flirty approach to a booties, making it wearable in the warmer months. This booties is available in black as well.

Sofia is a dainty reflection of the Stewart. Still keeping with the theme, Bebe has created a sling-back with an edge. The miniature braid and aged silver rings give it just enough detail. These heels can be worn to a special event or a night out on the town. The Sofia is also available in black.

Jayda in bone is a new upload from Paris Hilton. The color rocks, of course. The style is interesting. I would call it a modified wedge. It’s somewhat of a wedge and heel combined.  Not a bad combination at all. I like the gold buckles that add some shine. This shoe is a great seasonal style. Jayda is available in black, gold and orange. Enjoy!

Look at these! Barry in bone by Paris Hilton made its way to us just yesterday. It is not on the website yet, but keep your eyes peeled. This style is also available in black.

After the ceremony is over, the cake has been cut, and all the heartfelt toasts have been said it is time to jet off to your honeymoon.  Take off in a car that is (hopefully) tastefully decorated for the airport where you will take off in a plane to some exotic location.  While planning for “the Big Day” takes most of the focus, a well planned honeymoon wardrobe should not be overlooked.  It doesn’t matter if you are headed to the mountains or the coast, a cruise ship or a ski lodge, a bed & breakfast or a theme park;  we have the perfect footwear for any destination. Bon Voyage!

Star Shoe Styles: MTV Movie Awards Style Forecast: Kristen Stewart

Posted by Ellen on Wednesday Jun 2, 2010
See more posts by Ellen

Hi there shoe fans … It is June and you know what that means, time for the MTV Movie Awards!!!  While most red carpets during the regular awards season are super formal and somewhat predictable, any show that involves MTV is always full of surprises.

From the exotic locations to the over the top entrances, there is never a dull moment when it comes to our favorite stars of the big screen.  And of course, it goes without saying, all eyes will be on the fashion: who is wearing what, especially on their feet.  I’ve taken a list of the hottest leading ladies that are scheduled to appear and paired them with some of my favorite shoes that match their style.

First up is Kristen Stewart.  With her roles ranging from playing Bella in the super-phenomenal Twilight series movies to Joan Jett in the biopic “The Runaways” she is undoubtedly one of the biggest up and coming starlets on the scene today.

With her tomboy awkwardness under control, K Stew could totally rock these:

Heels.com Insider: Shoes as Art? Or for Walking?

Posted by Suleika on Tuesday Feb 2, 2010
See more posts by Suleika

It’s all well and good to buy that last oh-so-perfect dress on the rack, even though it is 4 sizes too small. I mean you can admire it from your closet right? Hang it up like a piece of art? No?

High heel art

I would say it is the same with a beautiful pair of shoes that are simply too high for comfort.

Many scoff and say comfort? No, beauty is pain and that means fashion too. If you want comfortable shoes you might as well go and buy some orthopedics or even, gasp, Uggs.

I own quite a few pairs of shoes, and I have had to learn to restrain myself when it comes to sky-high heels. Sure, they may look absolutely delightful in a picture, or when you receive them in their perfectly papered splendor. On your feet? Not so much.

When women wear shoes that are obviously uncomfortable, it shows. And nothing tarnishes your look like the duck waddle walk – you know the one.

However, designers don’t seem to feel my pain. In a 3 inch heel I can go all day long, and in 4 inches I can make it standing for several hours. But in 5 inches? I don’t know how stylish I would look spilled on the ground. It seems as if season after season, we are seeing higher and higher heels. I keep hearing that low heels are coming back into style, but when I see the shoes we receive, they seem as if they have taken growth hormones! For instance, since the beginning of the LAMB line, shoes have gone from this:

LAMB Georgina Heel in Camel
in 2008

To this:

LAMB Rhett Sandal in Red
in 2009

To this:

LAMB Zan Sandal in Black
in 2010

Granted, all these shoes have different platform heights, so the actual slope of the shoes may be comparable, I believe there is definitely something to be said by these climbing heel heights.

Personally, I just can’t do it. I would love to see more shoes in the “wearable” range with the awesome stylings of all these shoes.

Well, it seems there is also another option. If you are really committed to a pair of shoes, and you have a great shoe repair person, you may be able to have the heels taken down. Or you can ship them away to NYC and get them a complete makeover, like below!
