Hi Shoe Fans!  While Cognac can be an old man’s after dinner drink, it is also one of the hottest shoe colors of this season.   This rich brown hue is not only beautiful but also versatile as it can compliment a wide range of color schemes.  Here are a few of my favorite Cognac styles.

Last week the one and only Report Signature paid us a visit to showcase some of their upcoming styles for the Spring and Summer 2011 season and we were simply delighted with the selection. Report Signature brings us their same vampy style but this time adding a more feminine flair. These pumps are glam and pack a major punch with sky high stilettos and double hidden platforms. Our favorite pumps include these glossy nude/black styles along with the lacy and sparkle versions below. Happy Heel Hunting!

If you’re looking to unleash your wild side and still look put together, leopard print is the way to go. In recent days, we’ve received some ferocious styles that show off different versions of the animal print. Just remember, Leopard is worn best with an outfit and accessories that aren’t so growl worthy.

I’m not a traditional bride that’s for sure, I just don’t believe in the whole “let’s do a wedding this way because this is how everyone else does it” scenario. We recently met with our Report Signature rep, and she had some really great stuff to show us. Report Signature is a personal favorite of mine – I just love their unique and luxe looks. Everything is super high and super sexy. I wish they could all be mine!

This is the Report Signature Durant in Black. We also got it in leopard (which you can see in the background) and nude. We actually just received the leopard and black today – so be expecting it on the site verrry soon! I personally can’t wait for the nude – I might need to have it!

We also should have all these coming in soon. The ankle boots with the intense straps and cut-outs are so great for that trendy look for winter. Although, I wonder if those cut-outs will make your feet cold! Kinda reminds me of Suleika’s last post about shoes that are not quite boots not not really sandals either! The pumps with the cool details I really love. They are the perfect combo of lady-like and punk rock – how can you resist?

The Thursday before last, the Heels.com girls got all glammed up with our hot rollers (well – I did), cute dresses, and of course – we brought out our most head-turning heels to show off at a local event centered around the best thing in the world – high heels!

We heard about a group of local Charlotte women who get together once a month at a fun bar to show off their shoes and learn about local businesses that cater to women. We decided that a group of Stiletto Girls was right up our alley.

Even though it was raining, we still managed to make it to the event to check out local businesses like Seventy Two Shoe Boutique, Black and Blue, and the Pink Hanger – all really cool! They had discount coupons and all kinds of stuff to try on. The cocktails were amazing as well with the highlight being Apostrophe’s delicious Cantaloupe martini – yum!

At the end of event they have a little competition for the best heels of the evening – and we just knew a Heels.com girl was sure to win. We had it narrowed down to my fierce black patent Report Signature Pamonas, Suleika’s girly red LAMB Sydneys, or Linda’s sparkling Report Signature Carletons – and Linda won for the evening getting the crown for the night!

All in all, it was a really fun event – a great chance to meet friends with similar interests, learn about local boutiques, and check out some great shoes! They’re bold, bright and funky. We just can’t seem to get away from neon colors. These brights have made huge debuts and comebacks in the 60′s, 70′s, 80′s and 90′s. Now…they’re back. I have a love/hate relationship with neons. They remind me of early 90′s fashion when Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer were totally cool dude. Though the latter two have faded out, neon color trends seem to have survived the test of time. And I can’t help but notice how fresh and fabulous these new bright heels are. Maybe neons will stick around a little longer this time. But if they don’t, you can always hang on to one of these styles and bust them out during the next go round.

The Report Signature Perrin Neon Sandal screams sexy with it’s crisscross front and flashy colors.

The Guess Carrie 9 Yellow Pump should be paired with a toned down outfit to make them pop.

You can still rock neon colors in a more casual way with the Zinc Jordan Sandal.

The Luichini Miami Fuschia Pump adds cutouts to tone down the color, making it even more girly.

At the Catherine Malandrino Fall 2009 show in the Rockefellar Center, Mena Suvari and Mary J. Blige were both in attendance, looking gorgeous wearing the designer of course. Mary J accessorized her lilac dress with shades and knee boots, while Mena opted for a wide belt and one of our favorite shoes – the Report Signature Randolph heel in black. Gorgeous!

I love these dresses – especially Mena’s – and I like the shoe choice as well – a little different from usual but still works well.

It seems that the Kardashians and Paris Hilton are not the only celebrities who LOVE Report Signature – Holly and Kendra were both spotted wearing Report Signature’s to the same event about a week ago – their book launch party at the Forum Shops at the Caesars Palace Hotel in Las Vegas.

Kendra is wearing the Report Signature Howell Boot in the bone color and Holly is wearing the Report Signature Dita Heel in black. Not sure what shoes Bridgette is wearing :)

Report Signature Howell Boot – I think this boot would look fantastic with some leggings and a big tunic.

Report Signature Dita Heel – This shoe is really sexy yet wearable, our buyer Linda has this shoe in the turquoise color and she wears it a lot – which is a big thing for some one who owns as many shoes as she does!

Personally, I really love Report Signature shoes and I get so excited to see new ones. We just got in the updated version of the ever popular Report Signature Lucie – it’s called the Pamona and it comes in a variety of bright patents. We haven’t uploaded it yet, but we will be soon!

I always love looking at The Sartorialist’s photos to get outfit inspirations… some days I don’t love it, but some days his photos just really inspire me.

One of today’s photos was of a woman wearing a camel sweater with neon trim, a white button down, a high waisted patterned skirt, and a fabulous pair of killer heels. While these shoes are pretty high and eye catching, they are actually very neutral in the outfit. Sometimes it takes a picture like this to remind me that a really high heel doesn’t always attract as much attention as I think it does – often I get scared to wear a pair that is too high with a short skirt for fear of looking tarty. This picture proves me otherwise – the woman looks very classy and has the perfect mix in of trends with basics.

Hi everyone and welcome to our brand new blog – Heels and the Queen City. Here at Heels.com we thought it would be great for you to be able to get to know us better and take a peek into our day to day operations selling womens shoes.

As you may or may not know, we aren’t a huge corporation like Zappos or Endless. We are a close-knit family here and we all try to contribute everything we can. We all answer the phones and send emails, pull and ship the orders, and even take out the trash and sweep the floors! Of course, we all have specific duties too, and you can check out more about each of us on our biographies.

We plan on posting all types of different things related to shoes – including but not limited to: reviews of different shoes, our favorite new shoes, changes here at Heels.com, celeb shoe styles we love, and so on…!
